Dr. Sukhbir Sandhar

Dr. Sandhar is a highly skilled podiatric surgeon and physician.

Originally from Ladner, British Columbia, she completed her undergraduate studies at the University of British Columbia, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She went on to obtain her Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine from Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine, where she graduated with honors and was inducted into the Pi Delta National Podiatric Medical Honor Society.

Dr. Sandhar furthered her training through a comprehensive surgical residency at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle, Washington. This rigorous trauma and reconstruction-based program involved the treatment of various pathologies, both surgically and non-surgically, including foot/ankle fractures, lateral ankle instability, flat foot, high arch foot, and other sports injuries. Additionally, she has received training in other conditions such as ingrown toenails, plantar fasciitis, and Achilles tendinopathy. Dr. Sandhar also obtained extensive experience in managing foot pain through the use of orthotics.

In addition to her clinical expertise, Dr. Sandhar has contributed to the field through research published in the Journal of the International Foot and Ankle Foundation. Her study examined the potential benefits of primary ankle joint fusion in patients with diabetes mellitus with ankle fractures. She has also presented at prominent medical conferences, including the 2022 American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons conference, where she discussed modifications to the Stainsby procedure for treating chronic lesser metatarsophalangeal joint dislocation. Additionally, Dr. Sandhar has shared her insights on the surgical treatment of tibialis anterior tendon ruptures at the International Foot and Ankle Foundation Seattle Seminar.

Dr. Sandhar is delighted to return to British Columbia and serve her local community. Outside of her practice, she enjoys reading, paddleboarding, and exploring the outdoors. She also loves discovering new coffee shops with family and friends. Fluent in both Punjabi and English, Dr. Sandhar is dedicated to connecting with and supporting her diverse patient base.
